Jennifer Statham (Violinist)
Jennifer is currently in her second year studying Music at the University of Bristol. During her gap year she achieved distinction in both her violin and singing ABRSM Performance Diplomas and a merit in her Grade 8 Music Theory. In 2013 Jennifer won the Gloucestershire Rotary Young Musician of the Year competition on her violin and last year won the Carducci Prize in Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year. At university she is leader of the University Chamber Orchestra, a member of the University Symphony Orchestra, University Singers and the Berwick Consort and earlier this year she performed in the University Opera Society’s production of Sweeney Todd. Before coming to University Jennifer sang in the Gloucester Cathedral Youth Choir, where she was given solos, and in 2015 she was asked to sing solo in the Boxing Day service at the Cathedral. Also leader of the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra for 2 years, Jennifer was asked to perform as the soloist for Vivaldi’s Summer with the orchestra on tour to the Black Forest, Germany last year.
